Sorry, I should have made that clear. You can fill them in with your character’s spells and then print them. The first card is filled with a spell that is intended to be used as an example, and it can be changed to have your spell listed instead.

I love these and I’m not even using D&D 🙂 I think it will be good for the caster to have a pack or relevant cards at hand rather than reading through every list searching for the ones they have learnt.
I also enjoyed my misread of your Grease spell – substituting in Geese (understandable with the typo) I look forward to a flock of geese covering the floor. 🙂

One of the good things about do-it-yourself cards is that they can easily be used for other gaming systems, or even other languages.I am glad that you like them, typos and all.

I discovered D&D made class card sets today (which are totally sold out) and after some digging, discovered this template.
Very beautiful and totally accessible. Do you plan on adding all the spells for the classes?
I know that may sound daunting but I found a site that has done that work already:

No, I do not intend to be adding the spells for the classes. However the site you link to is a good resource, Also one of my readers has done this for an earlier version of these cards:

I’m amazed by these great work! Can i ask though, is the a way to make them black and white? I
don’t have a colour printer. I’m whats known as an idoit and can’t figure it out .

Have you tried to just print these on your black and white printer? Colored images printed on B&W printer usually print as grey scale. Let me know it that doesn’t work. There should be a way to do it.

Im super excited to print and use these! Only thing I’m a little bit disappointed in is the fact that there is no “general” card backs. I wanted a different colour for each level but they all say the class. Guess I’ll have to stick with just one, but was hoping to avoid this.

I’m sure you noticed that there is one “general” card back.
I’m sorry that I can’t make everyone happy. 10 different colored backs for each class is more work than I want to do on these.
Perhaps you could add a drop of fingernail polish or paint to the corner for each different spell level.

These are awesome! However, I’m having a problem. I’m trying to open the file on a Macbook (using Chrome) but the cards don’t seem to be fillable. I can’t type or delete anything. I tried opening the PDF file both online and offline (both have worked in the past) and I couldn’t get anything to work. Do you have any insight on this?

Try downloading a fresh copy of the file to your computer. Then use Adobe Reader to open and edit it. It could be that the copy you have has become corrupted some how.
Others have reported similar problems trying to edit the files using a wed browser.

The cards are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. There are 8 cards on a single 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet.
Why don’t you download the file and see if they will work for you?

Thank you for making these so easy to use. They are perfectly scaled to print so I can add a few Wizard spells to my Cleric deck. I had no issues whatsoever using these and I have given the link to my D&D group. Very generous of you to share your template!

Thanks Ronnie this is perfect for making the extra cards I need that didn’t come in my druid pack. Brought the big pack (131 cards) and Frostbite was missing. Weirdly it doesn’t contain all the cantrips so youv’e sorted my problem.

Hi Matt,
Just keep typing. Once the card is full it automatically keeps adding lines and making the font size smaller. On some spells however, if you enter all of the spell description it gets so small you can’t read it (or at least I can’t). You could try abbreviating the description – leaving out unnecessary information. Or you can use two or more cards – continuing the description from one card to the next.

I’d like you to know that your cards are being used in China!! I’m an expat teaching English, and I use D&D with some of my students when they get to a certain level. It helps a lot in practicing “What are you going to do?” and “What do you say?” I also use the cards with my 6-year-old son. It makes our games so much better and smoother. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much Ronny for all your hard work on these. We are running our first campaign with our entire group of six players and our DM. I have passed along these cards for each of our players that have spells, two of us right now. But have all of the cards templates saved for future use. I have been working on my Paladin spells, hoping our Ranger is working on his. My Husband is our DM, and he has requested that I get a set of all the spells together for him…gonna take a long time, but I’ll get it done. I’m going to add somewhere on the cards what classes can cast each spell, so he doesn’t have multiple sets of the same spell, that’ll cut the time down a little bit. I’ve estimated it’s going to take me about 6 months to get them all done for him….lol. Life, interfering with our game playing…how annoying is that?!

I’ve found that life does get in the way of gaming far too often. 🙂
Perhaps I can save you some time. One of my followers has already created cards for all of the spells in the Player’s Handbook, Elemental Evil Player’s Companion and the Sword Coast Adventurer Guide. They are on an earlier version of these fillable cards. They are 3″x5″ cards. I cannot vouch for their content but they look good at first glance. Even if you cut and paste the text from these cards into these other cards – it should save you a lot of time.

Love these! Do you by any chance still have the back of the card with no icon? So I can make custom ones? And did you MAKE the back of the card? it looks reaaalllyyy nice.
Also, I’d like to get your permission first, but can I use your template cards and the backs of these cards for a card generator I’m working on?

I wish that I could take credit for the “Picture frame” image on the backs, but no, I found it somewhere on-line. I couldn’t tell you for sure where it came from, but I think that this is the one I used:

I can’t imagine how much time it took for you to create this page.
I only played with it for a couple of minutes, but if you don’t mind I have a couple of suggestions.
First it would help if you could list the spells sorted by spell level. Also it would read a little better if you could list them vertically instead of horizontally. But that is all just being picky.
I noticed a couple of other things.
Class Template Cards:
1)No where on the card does it indicate if it is a concentration spell.
2)The PDF that I made came out on 8 1/2″ x 11″ at one spell per double sided sheet. It would be better if you could select the card size (or maybe I just missed that setting somewhere).
The Neebz’s Cards:
1)They don’t list what the material components are.
2)Somewhere you should tell people what the symbols on the Nbeez’s cards represent.
3)I noticed that the “pass without trace” spell doesn’t appear correctly on the Neebz’s Cards.
Where the descriptions are long, the text becomes to small to read. It would be great if you could keep the text all the same size and if there are to many lines of text to fit on one card it would add “Continued..” at the bottom of the page and add another card and keep adding cards if one more cards were needed. The added cards would contain nothing but the spell name at the top, the continued text, and the card number (2 for the second card) at the bottom.

If you are like me, and like the larger 3×5 cards, you can download a Form-fillable PDF file that I created that prints 4 3″x5″ cards on one 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of paper, but they don’t have backs. You can find them on an earlier post of mine here:

Try downloading a fresh copy of the file to your computer. Then use Adobe Reader to open and print it. If that doesn’t work, please give me more information. What is the exact problem you are having? What computer, tablet, phone, or other device are you using? What operating system? What PDF reader are you using to print from? If I can’t solve your problem, perhaps another reader can.
