For the first time DMs running this I would suggest reading the entire adventure and making notes on spots to improvise. My group of 10yo boys ran me right out of the area and I had to force them back to the quest. It probably has more to do with my players than the scripted adventure however there are some “holes” you can patch over with short encounters to give them no lee way to get out of the quest. They enjoyed my off the cuff encounters but I had to go diving for reference materials mid game which slowed things down a bit.

Thank you very much for letting us know about your experiences running this adventure. A lot more people read these than ever comment on them.
Reading the entire adventure is good advice for any adventure, even if you are an experienced DM.
I haven’t even red it through myself yet, but am looking forward to it. It sounds like your young group all had a good time, and that is what it is all about.
