D&D 5E – Initiative Cards

Init_Cards

Free fillable initiative cards for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons.

Download the fillable pdf file here: Int_cards

The Initiative Cards in this download include eight 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ cards on one 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet. They include examples of how they can be filed out for both PCs and Monsters. What I do is have each player roll for their PC’s initiative and write the results on their card. I do the same for the monsters. I then gather all the cards and sort them in initiative order before the start of combat. I can then refer to the stats on the cards during combat.

For those of you who (like me) prefer a larger card, here are the same cards only these cards are  3″ x 5″: INIT_MONSTER_CARD_3x5

As always, comments are welcome.

Thank you for your kind comment. Too many people don’t take the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it when someone does. It is good to know that some find some of this useful.

Like the cards but there are some spelling errors. (Traits, Challenges).

Thanks to your post, I revised the files. If you download them now, they should be corrected. Spelling has always been a problem for me. Adobe Acrobat doesn’t have a spell check in the form editor. I will try to be more vigilant in the future. Thank you very much. Please let me know of any other errors you may find in any of my posts.

Thank you for letting me know. Tell me after the game how well (or not) they worked for you. Perhaps I could improve on them.

Truly great tool as a DM I was just writing all thing on scraps but this is a neat layout which makes for better organization. 10/10. No notes 🙂

Nice work. question – can I change the font size on text (using Acrobat Reader)? I prefer the smaller fonts, but most of it is in larger fonts..

The font size will automatically adjust based on the amount of text you enter, so if you wanted to, you could add a lot of spaces at the end of your text until it got as small as you wanted. But other than that, I know of no way to change the font size using Acrobat Reader.
I hope you never NEED the larger text. As time goes by, I find I really appreciate large text.

These are great! Sorry for the dumb question but the “incapacitated” section on the card…do you flip the card to let you know they are incapacitated? Do you circle the word?

I’ve been using VTT for a while now, and just started an in person game. These are great tools to keep the game flowing the way it should.
