I cleaned up my 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons auto-fill Character Sheet and added some pages. I received comments that there wasn’t enough room on the old sheets to enter all of the needed information.
The original 4 pages haven’t changed much, other than adding room for a few magic items and for spell descriptions. I added a full sheet for more spells and their descriptions. There is also a sheet for Traits, Feats and Features. And another one for Magic Items.
The biggest addition is below:
Class Feature Sheets
One page for each sub-class for each of the classes in the Player’s Handbook.
I created these for an easier way for the players to remember their class features/abilities without having to write everything down. You can print off a sheet for each sub class so you don’t have to try and remember all the features or fill in your character sheet with features when it eventually becomes overloaded.
Barbarian (includes Berserker an Totem Warrior)
Bard (includes Colleges of Lore and Valor)
Cleric (includes the Domains of Knowledge, Life, Nature, Tempest, Trickery and War)
Druid (includes the Circles of the Land and the Moon)
Fighter (includes Battle Master, Champion and Eldritch Knight)
Monk (includes Ways of Shadow, the Four Elements and the Open Hand)
Paladin (includes Oaths of Devotion, the Ancients and Vengeance)
Ranger (includes Beast Master and Hunter)
Rogue (includes Arcane Trickster, Assassin and Thief)
Sorcerer (includes Draconic Bloodline and Wild Magic)
Warlock (includes the Archfey, the Fiend and the Great Old One Patrons)
Wizard (Includes the Schools Adjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation)

Each pdf file contains a separate page for each of the sub classes. For the sub classes that don’t require a full sheet, I included spaces for you to add information for more traits, feats or features.
The information on these sheets is intended as a reminder of the major effects of each of the features. As such, the feature descriptions are abbreviated. Please refer to the Player’s Handbook for the full descriptions. One abbreviation I should explain – When it says (1/rest), that indicates that it can be used one time between a long or short rest. (1/long rest) is one per long rest.

I have been working on these for a long time. I usually am the DM, but I realized the need for the Class Feature Sheets when I played a Barbarian in a game a friend was running. What I didn’t fully realize when I started making these was how many I would have to make. I ended up making a total of 40 different sub-class sheets.

1 small thing though it seems like in the Bard sheets you have switched the Bonus Proficiencies between the 2 archtypes =)

You might be interested in the WHY of these sheets. There have been too many times in the past that I had a character sheet for a character that had been playing for some time and on his sheet there would be a number (such as how many points are added to the attack roll for a particular weapon) and the question would be asked as to where that number came from. Then it would take several minutes to go back and re-calculate all of the bonuses (magical bonus, dexterity or strength bonus, proficiency bonus, some other bonus for any number of reasons such as race, class or background for example) so I wanted a sheet that would clearly show where all of those bonuses came from.
The rest is so I wouldn’t have to keep referring to the PHB and to act as a quick reminder of what a PC can do.

these character sheets are awesome and I don’t want to be that guy, (what guy? that guy!) but you are missing a line, and its a line that WotC character sheets are also missing and that is a line for deities. I do think you can see how important that information would be, especially for clerics.

I can certainly see how this information would be important for clerics and possibly paladins. For most other classes it may not be as important. Although the deities that the PCs worship may play an important part in some DM’s campaigns, they have never played a big role in the games that I have ran. I guess that is why I forgot to include it.
For now, there is plenty of room on the notes section on the first page to enter that information.

I also wanted to say how much I love the 1st Edition styling of your sheets, it brings a sparkle to the eyes of us old-timers. One thing I would like to ask is if you perhaps planned to add additional sheets for the new subclasses added in the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide and Xanathar’s Guide to Everything? I personally would especially love to see Class Feature Sheets for the Wizard Arcane Tradition of Bladesinger and the Bard College of Swords. Pages for all of the new subclasses would be wonderful and welcome additions to your beautiful character sheet.

It was not my original intent to add classes from any of the supplemental publications, but these are becoming so popular that I guess that I will have to add them. One of my subscribers has volunteered to work on some of these. So far he has only done the Sword Coast rogue, but it is looking really good.
As you can imagine, these are all quite labor intensive and real work tends to get in the way, but stay tuned. I should have these sometime before this time next year.

I can imagine all the hard work and great effort put into these, and that is one of the reasons why I thank you so much for them, the other reason being their pure nostalgic beauty (not not *just* nostalgia, these are truly better laid out, and of course *much* roomier, than the official sheets.) Please don’t take my comments as exhortations to rush them, nor as a demand to drop everything else and complete them immediately… I fully understand these are a labor of love and appreciate them all the more for that reason. Finish them at the pace you are able and I am positive they will be worth the wait!

Oh my, after just getting Xanathar’s Guide to Everything I must say that the new subclasses in it would also be wonderful additions to your sheets as well as the Sword Coast Guide. The Hexblade is amazing.

These sheets are amazing. I am starting my first 5e game in Feb, and these are exactly what I was looking for. While the official sheets do the job, they don’t have enough room for everything I like having on a character sheet. I will definitely be using your 7 page sheet for my character.
One question though, is there any plans for adding Xanathar’s Guide and Unearthed Arcana to the class sheets?

Thank you very much! I am glad that you like it. I created these for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
It was not my original intent to add classes from any of the supplemental publications, but you are not the first to ask for these.
So, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything yes. Unearthed Arcana no. As explained on page 4 of XGtE, the content of the Unearthed Arcana are designed partially for play-testing. Some of it made its way into XGtE but some of it may never become “official”.
One of my followers has volunteered to put this into my format. Another volunteered to do the same with the Sword Coast. If that ever happens, I will make it available here. If not, I intend to do it myself, eventually. Sorry, but it may be quite some time before any of that happens. As you have probably guessed, this is very labor intensive.

I love your character sheets. I noticed that the colleges for the bards are mixed up. Valor is Lore and Lore is Valor.

In the Weapon section, me and a friend also noticed that clicking Dex (for Finesse or Monk using Dex) often does not automatically update the total damage. I found I have to click the button Update Calculations or fiddle around…
Suggestion : maybe an Offhand option, for the Two-weapon style, would be a good addition where the bonus attack does not add the Ability modifier to damage.

I apologize for the totals not updating. That is why I added the Update Calculations button. I am afraid that there may be nothing I can do to fix that. Whenever I next revise the sheet, I will see if there is an auto-recalculate action associated with all of the buttons and add any that may be missing. Thank you to pointing this out.
As for not adding the ability bonus to the damage when two weapon fighting, the check box below the ability bonus for the weapon is used for that. When it is not checked the bonus is not added to the damage. I am sorry if that is not clear. It is a trade off between keeping the sheet uncluttered and still providing all of the necessary options.
When I have a weapon that I sometimes use for two-weapon fighting I will list it on the sheet as two separate weapons with different names, one with and one without the ability bonus.

One thing though : once the Str/Dex box is checked, I cannot uncheck it. So the offhand (no ability) works if one never checks the box :P, but anyhow, one can also just modify it afterwards with a -1 -2 -3…

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible for you to make “Blank Form Fillable Class Feature Sheets” for homebrew sub-classes. I can not find any others of quality or style even remotely close to this.

Page 3 of the “7 Page Character Sheet” at the top of this page can be used for that. I is says “Traits – Feats – Features” in the banner at the top.
However, a single blank “Blank Form Fillable Class Feature Sheets” for homebrew sub-classes is a great idea. I will try to include one the next time I update these. My target date for the next update is sometime this summer so stay tuned.

Fantastic layout! And thank you for putting it into a PDF format. My old version of Excel just isn’t up to using the forms in the newer versions. One question..would you happen to have a version of your fillable character sheet that doesn’t use the color gray for text? I’ve tried three different printers and the gray always comes out too light to read. I’ve tried to alter the pdf but can’t with my software.

Would you want the grey text to be black, or a darker grey, or some other color?
I have also noticed that they are very light and difficult to read, but I don’t want to make them black and they need to be light. I don’t know if you noticed but all the text that is in grey can be clicked on and you can type in a number that appears over the text. That number modifies the calculated number that appears beside it. This is for the times your character has a feat or feature or magic item that adds (or subtracts) from the standard calculated number.
I also don’t want to use color because many people can’t print in color.
Thanks for your suggestion, I will see how much darker I can make the text and still be able to see the number that is entered over it.
I intend to release a revised version of this some time this summer so stay tuned.

Hi! I love the look of your sheet!
The version available in the Downloads section of your site says it’s rev 6b, but this post says rev 7. So, I presume this is the latest version available, and the Downloads section needs updating?
Also, my character recently acquired a Ring of Protection (yay!), which grants a +1 to AC and to saving throws. I can easily add the bonus to AC, but can’t work out if it’s possible to apply an ad-hoc modifier to saving throws in this sheet. Could you let me know how to apply the bonus, or if it’s not currently supported, consider adding some way to do that in the next version? Perhaps the “Protective Items” section could have an additional column for Save Bonus.

Thanks. I am glad you brought this to my attention.
I am working on an update to this character sheet and I can’t believe I missed that. You are correct. There is no way to add ad-hoc modifiers to the saving throws on the current sheet. On the new sheet I will do them like I did them with passive perception, initiative, and skills. Not everyone realizes that beside each of these there is a light grey skill name listed and if you click on it you can add a modifier.

I will be adding all of the subclasses that are in “Xanathar’s Guide To Everything,” which will include the “The Way of the Sun Soul,” but don’t hold your breath. It seams that every time I start to work on it life (and work) gets in the way. It takes a lot of time to do these and before I do that I intend to update the player character sheets.

Hello Ronny, amazing sheets and it has ignited some passion in making my own sheets. My wife isn’t happy about it because I spend too much time making sheets rather than doing other work, but it makes me happy. Anyway, because I’ve been knee deep in working on my own sheets, I noticed one problem and also have one inquiry.
The problem is the disappearing ‘Apply ability modifier to damage’ check box. I can select it and it either doesn’t display the proper modifier or more commonly only displays the modifier once I deselect the checkbox. I fixed it using radio buttons instead, but the check box is a much cleaner way of doing it. As far as programming, you are light years away from me. I just started and I really don’t want to play with your code. Just seems wrong, but I wanted to be as specific as possible. I’m using both Foxit Phantom as my editor and tested on the newest version of Adobe DC just to make sure it wasn’t Foxit.
The inquiry is this. As far as radio buttons are concerned, you have the option to select Strength or Dexterity for a weapon. In my group, I have a few casters and they would love to be able to put in, say, Eldritch Blast as their weapon, which goes off their Charisma modifier. Would it be possible to add more radio buttons to select which attribute to go on? Having cantrips on the first page under weapons would be awesome.

I think I fixed the above mentioned problem by dropping the D_bonus below the Fill_81 in calc order.

Thank you very much for the comment and for the solution to a problem. I am in the final testing stage of posting a newly revised character sheet and will look closely at the issues you raised here. The idea about allowing different ability modifiers for weapons is an excellent idea. It is always a balancing act to provide as many options as possible and to keep the sheet uncluttered and uncomplicated.

I’m not a huge fan of the Eberron campaign setting, but I suppose that I should create a character sheet for the Artificer class. It is an official class after all and many will enjoy playing it. I also need to add Class Feature Sheets for all of the subclasses in “Eberron: Rising from the Last War”. I can’t tell you when I will get around to doing this, but I have put it on my “to do” list.

I’m sorry, you question isn’t clear.
If you miss typed “warpiest ” and meant to type “Warpriest” (no worries I am the worlds worst speller) here is what I found:
I found a 5e Homebrew Class with that name, but I don’t include character sheets for Homebrew classes.
“Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Advanced Class Guide” has a class with this name, but that’s not D&D.
My best guess is that you are talking about a Cleric with the “War Domain” sub-class. These are sometimes referred to as “War Priest”.
If this is the case, you need to go to my “D&D 5E – Character Sheet and Instructions” page and download the “Cleric” character sheet there. Also download the “Cleric Feature sheet”, it contains a page with all of the War Domain features broken down by class level.
“Volo’s Guide to Monsters” has a “War Priest”. It is not a player character – it is a monster or NPC. If you need a character sheet to use while playing a monster you can use the “Simple Character Sheet” on that same page.

“Construct” isn’t a class or a race. The Warforged race is the only race that is a construct. If this is what you are interested in you need to know that the Warforged race is found in the Wizards of the Cost book “Eberron: Rising from the Last War”.
